We've used lots of olive oil, and added whole milk, and oatbran for extra mildness.  We've also included neem oil, which is renowned for its therapeutic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, and which has been traditionally used to repel fleas and ticks, and to help control mange.

Essential oils of tea tree, lemon scented gum and lavender are used for their insect-repellant properties. Rover's Delight is lightly scented because dogs' amazingly efficient noses can't abide strong smells.
